Assistive devices

We will ensure that our staff is trained and familiar with the various assistive devices available on-site or that we provide, which may be used by customers with disabilities while accessing our services and facilities.

Communication

We will communicate with people with disabilities in ways that consider their specific needs, ensuring clarity and understanding in all forms of communication.

Service Animals

We welcome individuals with disabilities and their service animals. Service animals are allowed on our premises that are open to the public.

Support Persons

A person with a disability who is accompanied by a support person will be allowed to have that person accompany them on our premises.

Notice of Temporary Disruption

In the event of a planned or unexpected disruption to services or facilities for customers with disabilities, Seven Elements will notify affected clients promptly. This notice will be posted at the main entrance of our premises and will include information about the reason for the disruption, the anticipated length of time, and a description of alternative services or facilities, if available.

Training

Seven Elements will provide training to employees and volunteers who deal with the public or other third parties on our behalf. Individuals in the following positions will be trained: President and Office Manager. This training will be provided within the first week of employment or role change.

Training will include:

  • An overview of the Customer Service Standard plan
  • How to interact and communicate with people with various types of disabilities
  • How to assist individuals with disabilities who use assistive devices or require the help of a service animal or support person
  • What to do if a person with a disability is having difficulty accessing our services or premises

Staff will receive additional training when changes are made to this plan.

Feedback Process

Customers who wish to provide feedback on how Seven Elements delivers its goods and services to people with disabilities can speak directly with our Office Manager.

Complaints will be escalated and handled by both the President and the Office Manager. We aim to respond to feedback within ten business days.

Modifications to this or other policies

Any policy of Seven Elements that does not respect and promote the dignity and independence of people with disabilities will be modified to meet those standards.
